Extending an olive branch when you can’t or don’t know how.

The Advisory works with all families & specializes in high net worth matters.

We understand that each situation is unique and incredibly difficult for your family. We seek to maximize the time you spend together and minimize the friction that accompanies any separation, dissolution, or estrangement.

Our Strategy for Success

We know that timely accessibility to our services will help promote future success within your family dynamic.

We know that disagreements can arise at inconvenient times. We also know that professionals of any kind can be hard to reach, leading to additional frustration. We want to change that. That’s why we are pleased to now offer the option of 24/7 accessibility for coordination needs, in most circumstances and where practicable. This includes availability during many major holidays.

We believe that collaboration is key and operate with the intention of minimizing daily disruptions.

The Advisory does not provide individual legal services, instead, we require joint agreement from all involved parties, to ensure active participation in and a commitment to abide by the terms of our consensus and respect-driven, litigation-alternative approach. In the same vein, most, if not all, conversations will be virtual - by phone or video. We strive to work with you to aid and improve your family dynamic, and that includes every effort to avoid upending those schedules that guide our daily lives.

We require mutual respect, confidentiality, and ongoing civility.

While clients guide the scope and purview of The Advisory’s role in each matter, we set the tone, maintain healthy boundaries. The Advisory requires clients to jointly agree to participate in our services with civility and openness and, in turn, should be able to do so without concern that the contents of our discussions will “leave the room,” so to speak. Divorce, dissolution, and estrangement of any kind are hard in the best of times, and we’re here to undercut the animosity, infighting, and complications in the worst of them. Our recommendations aim to achieve fairness and are guided only by any governing agreements or orders, and/or efforts to reach consensus through a positive, child/family-focused approach.

We practice transparent billing and fee assessment.

Traditionally, legal fees can present unwelcome surprises or serve as an unfriendly reminder of how difficult a dissolution process can be. The Advisory seeks to remove the guesswork, to the extent possible. Each new client-family is subject to a standard retainer agreement and replenishment clause for all fees for services rendered, and work is billed on an hourly basis, as specified in the client agreement.

The Process

1

Assessment.

You’ll be asked to answer a few questions for us to better understand your family’s needs and objectives.

2

Consultation.

We’ll set up a free consultation to discuss our services and assess which, if any, are appropriate for your family.

3

Coordination.

After all primary decision makers sign a joint engagement letter and we finalize the agreement that outlines the parameters of our working relationship, the coordination begins.
